Christina Schwartz-Soper teaches in Colorado Springs at The Classical Academy as Director of Bands. She began her collegiate study of French horn and music education in Virginia at Shenandoah Conservatory and then later received her BA in Music Education from the University of Maryland in College Park. While in Maryland, she performed as second horn with the Prince George’s Philharmonic. Christina moved to Colorado in 2003 and has enjoyed the natural beauty and musical life here. While in Colorado, Christina has performed with community groups , the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra and several church orchestras and ensembles. She currently is second horn with the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs and principle horn of the Rocky Mountain Wind Symphony. Christina also maintains an active private horn studio. One of her greatest loves is her teenage son Christian. Second to that is her love for making and sharing music with others here in Colorado.
