Kristin Cazenave is currently a trumpet player in the Village 7 Brass and the US Air Force Academy Band. A native of Columbus, IN, she graduated from Columbus North High School. While at CNHS, she toured Europe with the Indiana Ambassadors of Music and had the opportunity to compete for and win 1st place in the Brown Scholarship competition. Kristin graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree, Trumpet Performance from Indiana University. While at IU, she studied with Edmund Cord and had the privilege of getting a lesson with Wynton Marsalis. She performed in the International Women’s Brass Conference and placed 2nd. Kristin was also a performing artist for Norwegian Cruise Lines, a guest soloist with the Columbus Indiana Symphony Orchestra & the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic Orchestra, a performer with the critically acclaimed Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra based in Indianapolis, a featured musician on the CBS Sunday Morning Show’s Columbus Indiana special, and a performer with the Ringling Bros Circus in Omaha, and she performed with the critically acclaimed Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra based in Indianapolis.
After graduating from Indiana University in 2011, Kristin joined the US Air Force Heartland of America Band in Omaha, NE. While stationed there, she performed in the marching band, concert band, Noteables jazz band, Offutt Brass quintet, and Brass in Blue. She received orders and joined the US Air Force Academy Band in 2013 and currently performs with the marching band, concert band, and Stellar Brass.Kristin’s love of music has blessed her with many exciting opportunities. She is fortunate to be able to share her passion with people of all different cultures and backgrounds. Kristin enjoys spending free time with her wonderful husband, Ben, who also happens to be her favorite trumpet player/musician!
